Christmas in New York is what you get when the Italian company that created some of the animated Titanic movies ask for North Korea's SEK Studio to help create a Christmas film.It's reminiscent of a typical episode of CBS Storybreak or ABC Weekend Special, but in a World of Funny Animals. Chicken Little is loosely adapted from the titular fable, but adds in silly elements and outrageous plot twists that the source material, of course, did not benefit from.Bolívar, el Héroe has really bad design, animation and writing, but those flaws are what make this film funny.On the other hand, this makes the film extremely quotable, to the extent that the entire film underwent Memetic Mutation at one point. and it was written by Jerry Seinfeld of all people. That premise is weird enough, its execution even moreso. But what makes this so bad but still enjoyable in the tiniest speck of dust of hope is its clever wordplay, set in World of Snark (in this case, Wonderland), and the fact that all the characters are voiced by Americans - in this version, Alice has a tendency to speak Totally Radical on some occasions. ◊ There's also the preposterous portrayal of the Mad Hatter as some sort of Peter Pan expy, a Chick Magnet and, naturally, hints of Hatter/Alice are pushed in there, and this film came out before Tim Burton's version.
